An easy way to get out of your head and into creative flow.

What exactly is Book Art?

For our Altered Book Art Journaling workshops series, we start with an existing book and turn its pages into a creative playground.

You might create black out poetry, paint over text, add collage, create pockets and windows, fold pages, draw, layer papers or incorporate unexpected found materials.

I’ll demonstrate techniques throughout the workshop, but there’s no single finished project everyone is expected to reproduce.

The fun is seeing where your own book goes.

Less screen time. More making.

Come for the creative night out. Leave with something you made — and a little more confidence in your own creativity.

There's no right way to make one.

This is your chance to quiet the part of your brain that wants to get everything right.

I’ll introduce techniques and ideas along the way, but what you do with them is entirely up to you.

Follow along, wander in your own direction, change your mind halfway through or discover something you weren't planning to make at all.

That's part of it.

Bring Book Art To Your Group

Book Art workshops are also available for libraries, schools, Scout troops, private groups and community organizations throughout Connecticut.

We’ll bring the materials, instruction and creative possibilities directly to you.
